FAQs

Nine Of The Most Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will we meet to discuss our big day?

Initially we will meet to discuss your requirements (with tea and biscuits) here in Edinburgh. Then a few weeks before your big day I like to meet you both at your wedding venue if possible, to go over your final plans and make sure I know how the day will run. Obviously in between times we keep in contact via phone and e-mail.

2. Do you only photograph weddings?

No, that's why I am limited to the number of weddings per year that I am able to cover. My commitments in the past have seen me as Edinburgh's Fringe official photographer, Official Photographer to Edinburgh's Hogmanay, and many more prestigious assignments which is what keeps my portfolio fresh and exciting and my enthusiasm running high.

3. How much does it cost?

Photography packages start from £675 (for up to 3hrs coverage) and can now include amazing high definition movie footage of your big day for an extra £875. All of our packages are bespoke and the most important aspect for me is that you get an amazing memory of your day, whether it be still and/or moving images. A deposit of £250 confirms your booking.

4. How much extra is it to have you come to, say New York?

No problem at all, I travel throughout the UK and abroad. Usually it just involves my travel and accommodation expenses, but please feel free to contact me regards this. I often travel the length and breadth of Scotland for wedding photography which has taken me to some amazing venues.

5. Why should I book Tony?

Because you won't regret it. I truly believe my creative and informal style is different to anyone else's. I have a been a photojournalist for over 20 years working for, and supplying images to, some of the highest profile companies in the country, including The Guardian, Reuters, The Scotsman, BBC Magazines and many more.

6. If we book Tony for our wedding, will Tony take the photographs on the day?

Yes, I will be your photographer on the day. I don't employ other photographers or subcontract work out. I do have a network of excellent photographer colleagues that I can call on in emergency, but I have not had to do this once in my 4 years as a freelance photographer. With bigger weddings I do prefer to work with a second photographer to ensure I capture all those special and candid moments for you.

7. How will our photographs be presented and how long after the Wedding?

Your photographs can appear in a private online gallery that you can share with your friends and family, or if you prefer I can create a second gallery of images of your choice for friends and family to see. You can also purchase a CD or USB stick of images which then entitles you to a free web gallery where friends and family can download the images free of charge, or this can be part of your bespoke package. Images are normally ready in 2 weeks from your big day and the movie takes 6 weeks or so to have the highlights ready for you.

8. How many photographs will you take on the day and can we request particular photos be taken?

You will end up with approximately 200-800 edited photographs, depending how long I am with you. We can discuss your requirements and any group shots you would like me to take beforehand, and I will ensure these are taken on the day. I prefer to keep any staged shots to a minimum enabling me to capture your day in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. I normally advise on having no more than 6-10 set group photographs and a large group shot with EVERYONE in it, which is always fun to do and has seen me perched on the edge of a fork lift truck in the past!!

9. Do you have a set of terms and conditions?
